Dr Michael Spratt completed his PhD in Law at the Sutherland School of Law, University College Dublin. His research examined Data Protection Impact Assessments, focusing on their role at the intersection of risk assessment, regulatory theory, and new governance. This work reflects his commitment to advancing both the practical and theoretical understanding of data protection in complex organisational contexts.

Michael holds an MBA in Business Strategy from the triple-accredited University of Strathclyde Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin. He also earned an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection Law from the Honourable Society of King’s Inns and is recognised as a Chartered Engineer by Engineers Ireland.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Michael has worked across telecommunications, big data, media, and automotive sectors. His career has taken him to many parts of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, where he has gained extensive experience working within and across diverse cultures.
